Dr. Andres Albanese current interest is the design and implementation of applications for home automation. Previously, at The International Computer Science Institute (ICSI), in Berkeley, California, he was Group Leader of Computer Networks; at Bellcore (Telcordia), he was Director of Broadband Interworking and Director of Metropolitan Area Networks; at Bell Telephone Laboratories (Bell-Labs), he was Supervisor of Local Area Networks and Member of Staff of Fiber Optic Systems.
Andres holds a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, a Master of Science in the same field from the University of Texas at Austin, and an "Ingeniero Electricista" degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela, as well as 15 patents and many publications in the areas of fiber optics, broadband communications, high-speed computer networks, and home automation.
